I've always wanted to start a blog. Literally, years ago when blogs became a thing, I was like I want to do that! I dreamt of being able to share my thoughts, ideas, inner-most feelings with an audience. But I hesitated. I came up with a number of reasons why I shouldn't- time, cost, self-doubt. The list goes on and on. But if there is one thing that the past few years have taught me it's this: life is short. I know that sounds so cliche but hear me out. I lost my sister-in-law last year fairly unexpectedly. She was only 47. A few years ago, she told my husband and I that she wanted to be a volunteer EMS. With no medical knowledge what-so-ever, she made this dream come true. She studied hard, she put in long hours, she took it all in. It became her life. It fulfilled her in so many ways and she truly loved it. So, if there is one important lesson to take away from this it's find what makes you happy and do it. For me that is exploring this amazing world around me and sharing my experiences with others. I don't think my sister-in-law knew what an inspiration she was to me. But I hope that every time I write about something new and awe-inspiring, she is smiling down on me and happy that I am living my great life too. This blog is dedicated to you, Laurie. I am truly grateful for what you have taught me.
